Remembering Your Spiritual Identity
Welcome back, beautiful soul. ✨
Have you ever paused and wondered, “Who am I beyond this body and mind? What is the point of this life? Why can it be so hard sometimes?"
This blog post is intended to support you to ground yourself back into your spiritual identity and restore your sense of purpose. I want to bring us back to basics—back to the spiritual foundation of our lives.
When you know who you are on a soul level—when you are grounded in your spiritual identity—you remember who you truly are and why you are here on Earth. Your life becomes infused with meaning, purpose, and fulfillment. Life shifts from black-and-white to multi-colored…from bleak to nuanced…from boring to wild.
You remember: you are not just a human lugging your body through this world for no reason. You are a soul incarnated in a human body, and your life is your soul’s purpose.
As Ron and Mary Hulnick, founders of spiritual psychology, teach: We are enrolled in Earth school with our own Divinely designed soul curriculum.
Your soul’s curriculum includes learning specific lessons, resolving specific issues, and sharing your unique gifts and talents with others. Experiences and relationships are "soul assignments," intended to help you grow, heal, evolve, and experience more love, peace, and joy.
Take a moment here to pause and reflect:
What soul lessons am I learning in this season of my life?
What gifts do I feel inwardly called to share with others?
Your human experience—and therefore your soul’s journey—is filled with opportunities for healing, growth, learning, evolution, and heartfelt service.
This is not about achieving some idealized state of spiritual perfection. It’s about living out and embracing a process and a journey over a lifetime (and perhaps many lifetimes).
Ultimately, I believe we are here to reawaken an ever-burning flame of devotion to love—a fierce, tenacious, relentless devotion to becoming the presence of love and co-creating a world together where more love exists.
A Course in Miracles teaches us:
“Your task is not to seek for love, but merely to seek and find all of the barriers within yourself that you have built against it.” (ACIM, T-in.1:7)
Part of our soul’s purpose is to remove what blocks us from our awareness of our true natures, which is love. In order for more love to exist, we each enroll in our own “courses” and “lessons” of unlearning fear-based thought systems, and remembering the love that we are. This process includes making mistakes. It includes navigating through and overcoming challenges. We learn through polarity and contrast here on earth. It includes being of service using our gifts…and awakening alongside each other as we serve.
When you choose to experience life with this spiritual framework as your foundation, you are embracing your true nature. You are grounding yourself back into the spiritual foundation of your life—and in doing so, you can transform the way you experience…well…everything.
With care,
Heather
