How to Choose a Morning Meditation Practice Aligned with Your Soul

One of the most common questions I get asked by new therapy or coaching clients in the early part of our work together is, "What morning meditation practice do you recommend?
Before I share my answer to this question, I want to share something else with you first.
Two of my core values as a therapist and life coach are:
Providing individualized care tailored to my client’s needs
Supporting clients to reclaim their power and access their agency in every possible moment
So, when it comes to the above question, rather than telling clients what to do, I more-so want to support clients to lead themselves to the practices that will most nourish, serve, and support them in this season of their life.
How to Choose A Morning Meditation Practice
THREE QUESTIONS TO CONNECT YOU WITH YOUR INTUITION + CORE VALUES
When we know our core values, it can be much easier to connect with, listen to, and act on our intuition’s guidance—especially in these more subtler moments, like deciding on a morning practice.
Here are three questions I use myself and give to my clients to help them decide for themselves what daily morning meditation practice might serve them best:
What does my soul most long to experience in this season of my life?
What skill am I feeling called to master in my life right now?
What quality, energy, or way-of-being am I most wanting to cultivate?
Play with these questions. You can rearrange the wording if you’d like. You can choose one that speaks to you most. Let them direct you towards the kind of meditation you want to practice daily.
BONUS TIP: Practice your meditation for 21—61 days to create a fundamental shift in the nervous system and in the neural pathways of your brain.
